This is an advertisement for Europcar and I've seen it many times on TV. It's unusual and interesting and different to other car hire adverts which are quite obvious and straight to the point. There are about 27 quick & snappy shots and they change in beat to the music. There are some medium shots and very few close-ups, but mostly it's made up of long shots which give us a view of everything. We see a man dancing around his house cheerfully and it gets us thinking why... All the scenes focus on a particular part of the rooms and that is a common theme. Different angles are seen throughout the video; some from a side view, some direct and some from far. The message is that Europcar drop off the hired vehicle to the customer which saves them time and that's the key point of this.
The sounds we hear are the song 'Everybody Dance Now' and right at the end there is a voice-over which informs us about Europcar and the deal they offer. Also the music stops when the door opens and we hear a regular doorbell sound before that. This ad is 1 minute and 3 seconds long in total which is a decent amount of time, but its the extended version because the one we see on TV is just 33 seconds. There is small print at the bottom of the screen which hints what the advertisement is about, without that i don't think I'd be able to guess what the purpose was until the very end. It finishes with the company logo and website at the bottom. It's aimed at those who can drive and maybe need a car abroad or for other reasons. I think this advert is effective because it's simple, humorous and original. Viewers will remember it too and i think that's an important feature of an ad.
