This is a dance orientated film which revolves around two worlds coming together. It includes similar themes to my current idea, such as setting and moving on from stereotypes. The trailer is targeted at teenagers and guest stars George Sampson and Diversity - this increases the popularity of the film because they are well known. There are elements of comedy and romance also.
From the beginning we are quickly shown the setting, which is London. This instantly hints at the type of life portrayed in the film. The production company logo is featured which is a good thing to include in a trailer because previous work could attract audiences. Story-line is revealed through the clips because we get an idea that conflict is present between two different types of dance. It relates to Levi Strauss's binary opposition theory and only the equilibrium and disruption are featured in the trailer because they want you to watch the film to uncover the restoration.
It's made up of fast editing which allows us to see more of the film and it also showcases the dancing. The mise en scene hints at the themes; for example the costumes and tracksuits tell us about the dancing.
The music compliments the music because it's street dance and groups like N-dubz suit the genre. They also sung/rapped on the leading track called 'We Dance On' which is another way the film promotes itself. Overall I think it is a good trailer because it includes many conventions such as - quotes, titles, voice over and clear narrative but it could be improved in showing the main characters.
