My Pitch

Concept: 'Anonymous' is a forensic TV crime drama with main character Ivy... at least that's who she says she is. Level headed and strong, she's prepared for whatever's thrown at her to get justice for her late best friend. Taking down the international gang responsible is her mission but falling in love wasn't included in the job description.


Scheduling: This would be an on-going drama shown for an hour once a week. The series would be broken into two parts to create suspense and speculation, making the audience desperate for the following episode. Approximately 20 episodes would be shown and a cliff-hanger on the last viewing would have the potential for a second series. I think Sky 1 would be a good choice of channel to air this programme because it's popular with a range of audiences and is constantly showing new material. 9 - 10pm would be a suitable time slot on Wednesday as it's post watershed and could offer a different type of entertainment during the week.


Target Audience: People aged from late teens to mid thirties is quite an open market. The storyline would be appealing to them and some characters may be relatable, which enhances the reasons why people would watch. 


Format: The narrative is about a young lady in her early early twenties who has recently lost a close friend at the hands of an international gang. She works for a forensic team and is always consumed with her work as she is quite lonely. Deciding that the culprits need to be caught once and for all, she devises a plan to get justice for everyone they've ever hurt. On a mission, Ivy does her research on this Mafia-like-team and plans to get to the source of all the trouble; Nicholas Denver. He is the leader of the gang who has recently received the position but is very new to it all. As the show progresses it turns out that her first impressions were incorrect and there's more to Nick than he lets on. He and Ivy are much like opposites, tension is in the air between them but as they get closer they realise some home truths. Matt Tyson is Ivy's boss at work who she deeply trusts but he turns out to be deceptive, cunning and the one really behind the crimes. Through out the series red herrings will be used to keep viewers guessing and wanting to continue on the open-narrative journey.


Characters and Actors/Actresses:

• The False Hero - Matt Tyson played by Hugh Laurie. This actor would be a good choice because he suits the role and many people are familiar with him. 
• The Maverick - Nicholas Denver played by Neil McDermott who is familiar with many viewers as he was featured in Eastenders for a period of time.
• The Hero - Ivy played by Lyndsy Fonseca. She is a young actress who has been in many well known projects. Her looks match with what i had in mind for this character and also has done some Crime Drama work including CSI.

Writers:

• Anthony E. Zuiker is a writer who writes the majority of the CSI episodes. He is familiar with forensic story lines and is creative with this genre.
• Steven Moffat writes Sherlock and Doctor Who. From watching some material from both programmes I think he has interesting ideas.

These two would be a good combination because of their past experience and the two of them both suit this show in particular. They're both familiar with the Crime Drama genre therefore their work would be valued.

Style: This programme would be American but with England  being a large part of it too. As the narrative is about an international gang, different parts of the world will be shown from time to time like Rome, London, California and some others. The mise en scene would constantly be showing hints which relate to crime. Dead bodies, weapons and a forensic team are examples which would pose as iconography. Music is also a feature which contributes to TV, it can be used in different scenes to build tension, create a happy atmosphere or even to tell a story. 


All these aspects contribute to the composition of a TV programme and a lot of planning goes into them.
